Fourth of July events: Your guide to holiday happenings in and around Dayton

With most celebrations cancelled last year, 2021′s Fourth of July festivities are likely to shine brighter than ever.

There are a number of Fourth of July celebrations happening throughout the Miami Valley, including downtown Dayton. Here are the local festivals happening this weekend in honor of Independence Day:

🎆Lights in Flight Festival

Where: RiverScape MetroPark, 237 E. Monument Ave.

When: Noon to 10 p.m., Saturday, July 3

The City of Dayton presents its annual, free Lights in Flight Festival & Fireworks this Saturday, featuring food, live entertainment, music and family fun. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

🎆Centerville-Washington Township Americana Festival

Where: Stubbs Park, 225 W. Spring Valley Rd.

When: 7 p.m., Sunday, July 4 through Monday afternoon

This year’s festival theme is “Honoring COVID-19 First Responders and Health Care Workers.” Representatives from local hospitals, fire and rescue organizations and health care workers will be the parade grand marshals.

The festivities kick off Sunday, July 4 with a flag ceremony at Stubbs Park, 225 W. Spring Valley Rd. at 7 p.m. followed by the Americana Concert. This year the Centerville Community Band and Chorus will perform patriotic music. A fireworks display with synchronized music by Jack FM 92.9 blasts off at 10 p.m. at the Centerville High School Stadium, 500 E. Franklin St.

The parade kicks-off Monday at 10 a.m.

🎆Star Spangled Heights

Where: Cloud Park, 4707 Brandt Pike, Huber Heights

When: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, July 3

The city of Huber Heights kicks-off their Independence Dayton celebrations at 10 a.m. sharp with the City of Huber Heights Parade scheduled to begin at Chambersburg Rd. and Brandt Pike and end at Nebraska Ave. and Brandt. Pike.

Attendees can expect a lineup of 25 food trucks to be on-site of the festival.

🎆West Milton July 4th Celebration Festival

Where: 249 E. Tipp Pike, West Milton

When: 6 p.m., July 1 through 10 p.m., July 4

Four days of carnival activities are planned for the 2021 West Milton July 4th Celebration Festival, including carnival rides, food and more. The festival’s parade is scheduled for July 3 at 11 a.m., though festivities will take place all weekend long.

🎆Beavercreek 2021 Independence Day

Where: Rotary Park, 2260 Dayton-Xenia Rd.

When: 6 p.m., Sunday, July 4

The fun will begin at 6 p.m. with a parade along Meadow Bridge Drive, continuing east on Dayton-Xenia Road and ending at Beavercreek High School.

“After cheering on the parade, the excitement will continue at Rotary Park, located at 2260 Dayton-Xenia Road, with more activities, including food trucks, live entertainment, and a firework show, scheduled to start at 10 p.m.,” according to Beavercreek’s website.

🎆Go 4th Celebration

Where: Delco Park, 1700 Delco Park Dr., Kettering

When: 6 p.m., Sunday, July 4

Kettering’s “biggest party of the year” is planned with a precise schedule of activities on Sunday evening:

6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fun Kids’ Zone

6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Food Trucks

6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Music from Southbound

7:50 p.m. to 8:20 p.m. Colors Presentation and Patriotic Ceremony

8:20 p.m. to 9:55 p.m. Music from Rockland Road

10 p.m. to 10:25 p.m. Fireworks

🎆4th Annual Red, White & Brew

Where: The Mall at Fairfield Commons, 2727 Fairfield Commons, Beavercreek

When: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, July 10

The fourth annual festival will take place in The Mall at Fairfield Commons’ front parking lot near the main entrance. The festival is free to attend and organizers say there is sure to be something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

The Kids Zone features free activities for kids and The Beer Garden will feature beers from local brewers including Warped Wing Brewing Company, Lock 27 Brewing and Branch & Bone Artisan Ales.

“The Mall at Fairfield Commons is thrilled to host this Red, White & Brew again this year,” said Leanne Rubosky, General Manager, The Mall at Fairfield Commons. “We are excited to provide the community with an entertaining evening while supporting an organization that provides for our military families.”
